Caribbean Cruises

As far as vacationing goes, cruises to the Caribbean are a fairly new idea.  It wasn’t even until 1900 that people considered taking a boat as a pleasure voyage or an “excursion” as they were known early in the industry. While the North Atlantic Ocean Liners sat unused during the winter months, some one realized that they should use them to go to the Caribbean during the “off-season.”

And so the Caribbean Cruise industry was born.  The first true cruise ship was the Prinzessin Victoria Luise (1900 to 1906 - grounded off Jamaica).  It was designed to give many more ammenities than the off-duty ocean liners did, including on deck lounging areas for sun bathing.

Today there are many companies that specialize in Caribbean Cruises, especially since the cruise industry has grown from 900,000 passangers in 1983 to 2.3 passangers in 1993.  The three largest cruise companies, all offering vacations to the Bahamas, are Carnival, Royal and Star/Norwegian Cruise.  Of all the Caribbean Cruises that depart from the US, one-third of them depart from Miami.

So if you’re looking to take a 4N or 7N cruise, or even a one day trip, look into specials offered by Carnival, Royal and Norwegian Cruises.  Their carribean cruises are the epitome of luxury, and you can afford the prices if you find them for sale on eBay.  You can even cruise around the Caribbean in your own luxury yacht. Imagine cruising the southern seas on beautiful ships, taking pictures of the ocean and the sky for cheap because you purchased your tickets on eBay!
